In 1984, the genesis of our Afrikan roots took structure, form and shape ...in other words: we started putting it down in the summer of 1984. Reborn in the spirit of our glorious Ancestors; we give mad props and respect to our Elders; for doing what they did in order for us to have survived, in other words: they learned the game and then held it down. When they spoke, we eagerly listened to learn, then we reached back and brought forth our history in a new, brighter light with an acquired tongue. After mastering our ancient ways, cultural traditions and lessons, we were appointed to give knowledge to the unwise, culture to the uncivilized and flava to the unseasoned; in other words: our game stay infinitely tight. At Askia Printing, better known now as: www.xslaves.com, we know and stress that keeping and securing the value of our Afrikan Ancestral spirit is keeping it real. Our cultural and traditional responsibility started with the first people and by knowing their greatness; they have made sure that their legacy will always shined in dark, cold, and damp places. Before we put anything down on paper or cotton, we always look-up for guidance and inspirations from the master storytellers themself. Honor is our form of empowerment that will always be given to those who had laid a safe, firm, and secured foundation for us; their descendants to stand, balance, and fight in order to safeguard our journey, tradition and culture. At Askia Printing, we remember our tradition as well as our God given purpose; we always greet one another with: "To know yourself is to love yourself "
